I just read this from The Wichita Eagle. Geoffrey Stanford, East Junior High student, encounters an error in a state writing test. Instead of saying, “the emission of greenhouse gases,” the test had a question that said, “the omission of greenhouse gas.” So he informs his English teacher Jennifer Fry, who int turn informed the [...]

I had thought adult illiterate Filipinos didn’t exist. I was, however, proved wrong. This incident happened around July last year. While waiting to get my ATM card from a very long wait, I heard an interesting exchange. Sunda lagi ang instruction, sir, the teller said in a tone that bordered on annoyance. Or maabtan ta [...]

I don’t care which side of the abortion debate you pledge your allegiance to, but this is just sick! This is an excerpt from the Associated Press: Eighteen and pregnant, Sycloria Williams went to an abortion clinic outside Miami and paid $1,200 for Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique to terminate her 23-week pregnancy. Three days later, [...]

I study in a medical school that prides itself for its “community-based” education. Whereas, other schools only expose their students to the community near graduation time, and that for only about a week. We are sent into the community from our first year until we graduate. We are responsible for guiding them, and empowering them [...]

As promised, my old blog is now inaccessible to the public. That old blog, btw, has not been completely shut down. It is still lying dormant somewhere in the interwebs. Perhaps it would rise again, but I highly doubt it considering that all but 2 of its posts have been relocated here. Btw, the move [...]

I bid you welcome to this new site.
It may look different from the old site, but its content is essentially the same. I also added a few new features a.k.a. ads which are also euphemistically called sponsors. Don’t worry about them. I’ll place them in such a way that wouldn’t bother your reading experience.
The move from the old site to this one was quite bloody. I did everything manually. I did not elicit the help of WordPress moving software such as Fantastico. I would be blogging about the process of the move in the future. What could have been finished in a few minutes, was done in about 2 nights. Details will be posted later.
The move, btw, was also expensive. I spent a lot for hosting and domain name registration. Plus, I spent for them in dollars. The minimum wage in the Philippines is only about $10.
Btw, I’m placing a Paypal Donate button below. Please feel free to donate some of your change. Please don’t mind it that much. It would just be buried under loads of posts soon.

And so it is time I move to another topic, which is the part where I bid you another WELCOME.

Rain had been pelting in Iligan for several days before last Saturday night. I usually don’t care about the weather as long as I am safe inside the house and tucked in for the night. I just hide under my blanket and pillows if it’s too cold, or have my electric fan running all night [...]

The Philippines boasts as having the country with the longest Christmas vacation. My holiday vacation started from Dec. 22 and it would end tomorrow: January 5. It goes to follow that today is the last day of that said vacation. Since it would also be time for me to go out of the house more [...]

Just read this, and thought I should share: At around 1:30 PM today, at Valley Golf and Country Club, Antipolo City, Mayor Nasser Pangandaman, Jr., Mayor of Masiu City, Lanao del Sur, his father, Secretary Nasser Pangandaman of the Department of Agrarian Reform, and company, beat my defenseless 56-year-old dad and my 14-year-old brother to [...]

By order of the City Council; firecrackers, fireworks, and anything else that can be mistaken for gunshots or bombs are banned during this holiday season. I do not know what the penalty for possession or use of these illegal materials, but I’m hoping it would be big. In this way, the citizens of Iligan should [...]
